  • Model: WINDER SPINNING WHEEL
  • Condition: I believe this to be an antique Spinner's Weasel as it has the counting mechanism. It needs repair and restoration but the hand turns when spun. I don't hear any clicking or clapping but maybe did not rotate it enough? Wood is old and weathered. One of the 4 end pieces may be later as it's a different color/patina than the others. Please review pics carefully.

Description

You are bidding on or buying a  ANTIQUE PRIMITIVE WOODEN YARN WOOL WINDER SPINNING WHEEL Skein 2 pcs    I believe this to be an antique Spinner’s Weasel as it has the counting mechanism.  It needs repair and restoration but the hand turns when spun.  I don’t hear any clicking or clapping but maybe did not rotate it enough?  Wood is old and weathered.  One of the 4 end pieces may be later as it’s a different color/patina than the others.  Please review pics carefully.  From the internet ” Spinner’s weasel or clock reel is a mechanical yarn measuring device consisting of a spoked wheel with gears attached to a pointer on a marked face (which looks like a clock) and an internal mechanism which makes a “pop” sound after the desired length of yarn is measured (usually a skein). The pointer allows the spinner to see how close she/he is to reaching a skein. The weasel’s gear ratio is usually 40 to 1, and the circumference of the reel is usually two yards, thus producing an 80-yard skein when the weasel pops (after 40 revolutions).     .

SALES ARE FINAL UNLESS MISTAKE ON SELLERS PART AND AGREED BY SELLER.
Some of the items that I list for sale on E-BAY are either old, vintage or
used. There are very few items in perfect condition that have been used and have
stood the test of time. Just about all of them show some signs of use and wear.
All items are pictured and have as thorough a description as possible. I am
representing the item to the best of my knowledge. The major drawback of online
auctions is that a person can’t actually handle and examine an item before
bidding. I know that misunderstandings and mistakes can occur on both sides of a
sale especially when buying from a picture and a description. To keep these
potential mistakes at a minimum I ask that you be a responsible bidder and read
the description & examine the photographs carefully. If there are any questions
please e-mail me before the auction ends. If you don’t agree with my shipping
terms and fees, please refrain from bidding on my auction.
THANKS FOR LOOKING AND BIDDING!!!!
