Antique Spinning Wheel Crank Arm for Double Treadle
This item came from a double treadle accelerated American made Spinning Wheel, believed to have been made around the 1830’s.
Hand forged, most likely made of wrought iron, the type of metal no longer available in our century.
Overall length of shaft, tip to inner edge of first arm is approx 5 – 1/2 inches.
Length of square section in the middle is approx 2 – 1/4 inches.
Diameter of round portion of shaft, where it would ride in the uprights, is approx 5/16 inch
A remarkable, and quite rare, piece of American history.
